Comparison of D2T2 Photo Printers and Inkjet Photo Printers
| 1. |
What's the difference in printing technology between D2T2 and inkjet? |
| Ans: |
The D2T2 technology used by Hi-Touch is a totally different printing method. D2T2 printing does not have printing dots like that of inkjet printing; therefore, provide a higher photo image quality.
| 2. |
The cost advantage of D2T2 vs. inkjet. |
| Ans: |
The total printing cost for a special photo paper with ink is around US$0.75 ($0.50 for paper and $0.25 for ink). The total printing cost for Hi-Touch photo printer is only US$0.40 (including paper and ribbon). |
| 3. |
The quality advantage of D2T2 vs. inkjet. |
| Ans: |
The over coating protective layer from HiTi's thermal printer is water and fingerprint resistant and can make the photo last up to 50 years under normal environment. |
| 4. |
Inkjet technology is not the best option for photo printing. |
| Ans: |
Most inkjet photos do not have the protective layer; therefore, it would be difficult to keep the photo for a long time under high humidity geographic area. The color will fade away quickly and yellowish color and vagueness will occur. The quality of the inkjet photo oftentimes will diminish in a month time. |
| Ans: |
The paper technology used for conventional inkjet photo is less advanced than the thermal photo paper. You need to cut the inkjet photo paper, normally from A4, to make the desired smaller photo sizes, which is less convenient. For HiTi's photo paper, all you need is just to clip off the edges to make it a full print photo, yet with higher quality and convenience. |
| 6. |
Printing speed comparison |
| Ans: |
The inkjet printers normally require more time to print photos. However, the fastest model from Hi-Touch Technologies is only 45 seconds, and the slowest model is only 100 seconds. |
| Ans: |
HiTi photo printer can be used for various applications which can easily satisfy different needs, including ID photos, fun stickers, bookmarks, watermarks, glassy and matte effect, business cards, ID badges, and etc. This is something not that widely available in the market for inkjet printers. |
